"...SpinChem is more than just a company; it stands as a lighthouse of innovation in the industry."
SpinChem's Journey
SpinChem's journey began in 2007 as a spin-off from Department of Chemistry at Umeå University, Sweden. The company's foundation was initially built on innovative catalyst materials, It then evolved into today's Rotating Bed Reactors. This became SpinChem's flagship technology, designed to enhance the efficiency of heterogeneous reactions across various industries
2007
Search for more efficient solid phase catalysts.
At that point, AlmQuest AB was founded as a spin-off company from the Department of Chemistry at Umeå University.
2010
Rotating Bed Reactor technology was invented
It was tested in the pharmaceutical industry to improve chemical processing of liquids.
2015
The Raft concept to clean the waste water was launched
The raft was designed to clean very large volumes of contaminated water, specifically for treating mining ponds or natural waters. The same year the name was changed to SpinChem AB with a featured product RBR S2.
2016
RBR becomes an easy Plug-and-Play device.
Launching complete Starter Kit S2, S3, first step to giving the customers easy access to the RBR as a plug-and-play technology.
2016
Atkins and SpinChem signed a collaboration agreement
Oil extracts are benefiting from using RBR’s to remove pesticide and color impurities (S14 system).
2020
Decontaminating nuclear waste in 3 continents
The first case where Spinionic™ technology (ProRBR) used to demonstrate decommissioning at a nuclear site with liquid effluent of 95 m3 (25,000 US gallons).
2021
RBR is implemented in full-scale food oil production processes
Our customers use ATEX certified RBR system for pesticide removal in a full-scale oil production clean-up (S5+S14).
2024
University Spin-Off award
SpinChem awarded "University Spin-off of the Year" at the prestigious regional Umeågalan event.
